ATLANTA – The LSU women’s tennis team begins its second weekend of competition Friday, as all members of the team travel to Atlanta, Ga., for the Atlanta Classic at the Sharon E. Lester Tennis Center.
The Lady Tigers will face Columbia, Georgia Tech and Georgia State during the three-day tournament.

Competition kicks off with doubles at 8 a.m. CT, and LSU will face Columbia. Singles competition follows as the Lady Tigers take on Georgia State.

After a lunch break, another round of doubles will begin at approximately 2 p.m. as the Lady Tigers battle Georgia Tech.

Newcomers Skylar Holloway and Abigail Owens, along with junior transfer Noel Scott, will make their court debuts for LSU at the classic. Freshman Gabrielle Otero opened the season for the Lady Tigers at the Coleman Vision Tennis Championships, where she took on professional player Nicole Melichar.

“With so many new faces to our team this year, it is going to be great for us to take our first road trip as a team and play in a dual match format,” LSU head coach Julia S. Sell said.
