BATON ROUGE – Fans will have a chance to meet and greet the LSU men’s and women’s basketball teams as “The Road to Tipoff” for the 2013-14 season continues at the inaugural “Bayou Madness” on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Doors open to the Maravich Center at 6:30 p.m. The free event will have a lights-out introduction of each player from both teams followed by remarks from head coaches Johnny Jones and Nikki Caldwell. Fans will then get a first look at the teams during competitions featuring a three-point shootout, a two-ball shooting contest and an exciting dunk contest with the men’s team.

There will be appearances by the Tiger Girls, the LSU Cheerleaders and “Mike the Tiger.” The event culminates with a free autograph session on the upper concourse of the Maravich Center. There will be prize giveaways throughout the evening.

Season tickets for both the men’s and women’s teams go on sale that same day on www.LSUtix.net.

Jones welcomes the return of All-Southeastern Conference forward Johnny O’Bryant III, junior point guard Anthony Hickey and seniors Andre Stringer and Shavon Coleman. The Tigers also bring in an elite recruiting class ranked among the top-five in the country led by freshman forward Jarell Martin, a Baton Rouge native.

Caldwell enters her third season at the helm of the Lady Tigers, who are coming off their first NCAA Sweet 16 appearance since 2008. Senior forward Theresa Plaisance — the SEC’s leading returning scorer — senior guard Jeanne Kenney and senior center Shanece McKinney enter the final season of their careers.
