BATON ROUGE – The LSU gymnastics squad, coaches and support staff gathered in the Lawton Room on campus Friday to listen to a presentation titled End Distracted Driving (EndDD).
Joel Feldman, the creator of EndDD, and Burton LeBlanc, American Association for Justice (AAJ) President and Baton Rouge attorney, spoke to the team about the importance of staying focused while operating a vehicle and removing all distractions.
“Our kids were extremely engaged throughout the presentation, and this is something that they have taken to heart,” LSU head coach D-D Breaux said. “I know they want to speak to others now about the importance of staying alert to the task at hand.”
The core mission of “End Distracted Driving” is to preserve life and promote safety on a large scale through advocacy, education, and action.
EndDD is sponsored by the Casey Feldman Foundation and is dedicated to inspiring individuals and communities to take action to end distracted driving.
“I learned that I need to pay more attention to what I am doing while driving so that I don’t put myself or other people in danger,” sophomore gymnast Michelle Gauthier said. “I am glad they spoke to us about the dangers of distracted driving because this team understands how important it is to be focused while we are behind the wheel.”
