Soccer Holds Position in Weekly Rankings

BATON ROUGE – The LSU Soccer team will step onto the pitch as the No. 25-ranked team in the country for the third-straight week as the Tigers have retained their No. 25 ranking in the latest TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 25 released on Monday morning after opening up the 2013 season with a three-game unbeaten streak.

The Tigers (2-0-1) will welcome the No. 8-ranked BYU Cougars (2-0) to Baton Rouge in nationally-ranked non-conference clash as part of Monday Night Futbol festivities at the LSU Soccer Stadium.

TopDrawerSoccer.com has tabbed the Tigers as the No. 25-ranked team in the country for the third-straight week following the release of its preseason Top 25 poll on Aug. 14.

Monday’s match against BYU will certainly highlight LSU’s home schedule in 2013 as the Cougars are a consensus Top 10 team in women’s college soccer entering the contest. The Cougars are also No. 6 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Top 25, No. 9 in the Soccer America Top 25 and No. 10 in the Soccer Times Top 25 polls released last week.
