Hey Tiger Fans!
With finals quickly approaching and only seven regular schedule games before the SEC Tournament and NCAA Regionals, these last few weeks of school epitomize the meaning of the term “student-athlete.” For all of us newbies, studying on the road is definitely something that takes some getting used to and serious self-motivation! All I can say is thank goodness we have “study hall” time at the hotel, or I would not get any schoolwork done, being the dilly-dallier that I am.
While we are all thinking about the game later tonight, we can’t forget about the dreaded exams that start for most of us in a week. Since the SEC tournament is the same week as final exams, it takes even more preparation, smart scheduling, and extreme focus to really hit the books hard the last couple weeks of school.
In other news, last week at Auburn and Ole Miss kicked off our “Gulf-State Tour” in which we spend 10 of 14 days in Alabama and Mississippi! We’ve really been working hard at practice to keep our momentum and hopefully have more success in the land of the muddy river and magnolia trees.
This weekend we face Mississippi State and as Coach Girouard told us, they are a very good team this year and have already beaten some quality teams. However as long as we keep the focus we had last week and play the Tiger Way, I know we’ll get the job done.
As always, thanks for all of your support, and we hope to see you out at Tiger Park next weekend for our last home series!
