Mack Notches Third SEC Pitcher of the Week Award

BIRMINGHAM, Ala – LSU junior right-hander Brittany Mack notched SEC Pitcher of the Week accolades Monday as announced by the league office. It marks the third weekly award for Mack from the SEC as she joins former All-Americans Britni Sneed and Kristin Schmidt as the only Tiger hurlers to pick up a trio of SEC Pitcher of the Week awards during the same season.

Mack racked up three wins and improved to 13-5 on the season. The 13 victories are a season personal career-high for the Round Rock, Texas, native. Her back-to-back shutouts during the Ole Miss series doubled her season total and shrunk her ERA down to 1.88 for the season.

During Sunday’s series finale with Ole Miss, Mack was in complete control during a one-hit gem highlighted by eight strikeouts. She sat down 17 of the last 18 batters she faced and her only blemish was a one-out single in the fifth inning.

LSU returns home for a Wednesday tilt against Southern Miss. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. with live audio and live stats available in the Geaux Zone on LSUsports.net. The contest also will be carried live on ESPN 104.5 FM with Patrick Wright calling the action. CST will carry the game with Lyn Rollins and Garrett Walvoord serving as the announcing team.
