Signee O'Bryant to Play in Jordan Brands Classic
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – LSU signee Johnny O’Bryant makes his second appearance in a national all-star game Saturday night when he plays for the West team in the Jordan Brands Classic.
The game is set to tip at 7 p.m. CDT and the 10th edition of the game will be televised on ESPN2.
O’Bryant, a 6-10 forward from East Side High in Cleveland, Miss., had nine points, seven rebounds, two assists, three steals and no turnovers in 18 minutes in the McDonald’s All-Star Game last month in Chicago.
Again, O’Bryant will be teamed with and against some of the top prep signees from around the country including some he will face in his first year of SEC play at LSU.
“These are the same type of guys you’ll see in college,” O’Bryant said. “It definitely gets me ready for playing at the next level.”
Of O’Bryant, the Jordan Brands media guide states: “Johnny O’Bryant is one of the most aggressive power forwards in the country. He is a dominant force on the block and will fight for position every time his team is on offense. O’Bryant has the skills top put the ball on the floor and attack the rim and he uses his height and strength to his advantage. He runs the floor well and can score in transition.”
