Trepp Wraps Up FINA World Championships

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — LSU swimming standout Jane Trepp closed out her program at the 2010 FINA World Championships Saturday in Dubai, United Arab Emirates with a 17th-place finish in the 50-meter freestyle.

Trepp missed qualifying for the semifinals of the event by just two one-hundredths of a second, registering a time of 24.80 seconds.

Over a four-day span, the Estonian shined with a fourth-place finish in the 100m individual medley and a semifinal appearance in the 50m breaststroke. Her best times in both of those events are ranked in the top 15 in the world.

Following the holiday break, Trepp will return to the United States to train with the Lady Tigers as they ultimately prepare for the 2011 SEC and NCAA Championships in February and March, respectively. The senior is currently ranked No. 2 in the nation in both the 50 free (22.16) and 100 butterfly (52.11).
