BATON ROUGE – Zach Mettenberger, the nation’s top junior college quarterback in 2010, officially signed with LSU on Wednesday, head coach Les Miles announced.
Mettenberger sent his National Letter of Intent to LSU on Wednesday, the first day that junior college players could pledge to four-year institutions. Mettenberger recently completed his only season at Butler Community College where he led his team to the national junior college championship game.
Mettenberger was named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Offensive Player of the Year after throwing for 2,678 yards, 32 touchdowns and just four interceptions in leading his team to a 11-1 overall mark.
Mettenberger is expected to enroll at LSU in January and will go through spring drills with the Tigers. He will be eligible to play for the Tigers next fall.
