Soccer's Chapman Named to All-Region Team

BATON ROUGE – LSU’s junior defender and First-Team All-SEC performer Allysha Chapman
continues to add to an impressive resume as she has been honored as a third-team all-region selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

After already being named an All-SEC performer for the second-straight season with her first career First-Team All-SEC selection, Chapman was also selected to the 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-South Region Third Team for the second time in her LSU career.

A native of Courtice, Ontario, Canada, Chapman established herself as the top left back in the SEC while leading one of the league’s premier defensive units during the 2010 season.

She anchored a back line that tied a school record for fewest goals allowed in a season with 16 and nearly set a new school record with a 0.72 goals against average in 21 matches on the year. In fact, LSU finished the season tied for the No. 1 spot in the SEC in goals allowed and wrapped up the season ranked No. 2 for goals against average among the league’s 12 programs with its performance.
