Roberts Represents Men's Tennis in Service

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – David Roberts of the LSU men’s tennis team earned a spot on the 12-member Southeastern Conference Community Service Team announced the league office on Wednesday.

The Lafayette, La., native is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and spearheaded several community service endeavors for not only the men’s tennis team, but also for all sports to participate in. Events in which Roberts participated include the CHAMPS Halloween BOOzar, Christmas with the Tigers, visits to Our Lady of the lake Children’s Hospital and Read Across America.

“The Halloween BOOzar was my favorite event,” Roberts said.  “I enjoyed seeing the kids dressed up and seeing how much fun they had made all the work with the set up more than just worthwhile. It didn’t feel like work at all.”

The SEC sponsors Service Teams in each of its 20 sports to highlight athletes from the SEC who give back to their community with superior service efforts.
