Soccer GK Isom Called to Team USA Camp

BATON ROUGE – For the second year in a row, LSU junior Mo Isom will have the opportunity to continue her development as one of the premier goalkeepers in the collegiate game while training with the Under-23 U.S. Women’s National Team with training camp scheduled to begin Sunday in Corvallis, Ore.

Isom is one of 25 of the nation’s elite college players who have been invited to the camp as they will take part in 11 training sessions and compete in a pair of fixtures over the next eight days.

The team will battle the Oregon State Beavers on Wednesday at 9 p.m. CT before taking on NCAA power Portland in the camp finale on April 25 at 1 p.m. This week’s U-23 U.S. Women’s National Team training camp will come to a close following the team’s match against the Pilots.

Isom enjoyed a historic sophomore season in 2009 while leading LSU to its most successful season with a third-straight SEC Western Division championship and third-straight NCAA Tournament berth.

The Tigers finished with a 15-4-5 overall record and school record 8-2-1 mark with 25 points in SEC play en route to a No. 2 finish in the final SEC standings and a No. 3 national seed in the NCAA Tournament.

With her performance this past fall, Isom became the LSU school record holder for wins (15), shutouts (12) and goals against average (0.72) in a single season. She also solidified her position as LSU’s all-time career record holder for wins (29), shutouts (19), goals against average (0.77) and save percentage (.817).
