Men's Tennis Hosts USF in Home Finale

BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team is set to host its final home match of the 2010 season as the South Florida Bulls travel to Baton Rouge for a 3 p.m. CT match on Tuesday in W.T. “Dub” Robinson Stadium.
The Tigers (5-14, 2-8 SEC) look to end a seven-match skid as they take on the Bulls. LSU features No. 34 Neal Skupski. The standout sophomore plays at the top court in both singles and doubles. Skupski owns a 6-9 record in singles and holds a 3-2 record in doubles with partner Sebastian Carlsson.
“This is an important match for us to get things going in the right direction,” LSU head coach Jeff Brown said. “We always have an intense match with South Florida.”
South Florida lists a 7-11 record and has lost its last three matches to Auburn, Louisville and UCF. The Bulls last posted a win over DePaul on March 24, 5-2. Wael Kilani leads South Florida ranked at No. 100 with an 8-7 record after splitting time between the top two courts.
LSU will look to defend a perfect 8-0 record against South Florida in the all-time series. The Tigers last notched a victory over the Bulls in 2009, 4-3, in Baton Rouge.
After the South Florida match, LSU will trek to Fayetteville, Ark. to close out dual action against the Arkansas Razorbacks before the SEC Tournament scheduled to begin April 22 in Lexington, Ky.
