GREENSBORO, N.C. – The 17th-ranked Lady Tigers got even par rounds from Jacqueline Hedwall and Tessa Teachman and improved their position to 10th after the second round of the Bryan National Collegiate golf tournament here Saturday.

Hedwall’s 72 boosted her from 17th to a tie for eighth after rounds of 73-72, standing at one-over par 145. Hedwall is six shots out of the lead held by Wake Forest golfers Michelle Shin and Cheyenne Woods. Teachman’s par 72 score boosted her 29 places from a tie for 67th to a tie for 38 at seven-over par 151 (79-72).

Those two scores helped LSU improve from an 18-over 306 score to a seven-over total of 295 on Saturday in the final regular season event before SEC and NCAA competition begins. The Tigers are at 25-over par 601 after 36-holes of the 54-hole event.

“I was really happy with the way the team came out and battled (Saturday),” said LSU Coach Karen Bahnsen. “I knew we would play better. I’m very pleased that Jacqueline (Hedwall) is playing better at this time of the season. We just need to get all the pieces in place for our next events.”

Florida State is the team leader at three-over par 579 (291-288), one shot better than Wake Forest at four-over 580 (291-289). Ohio State and Tennessee are tied for third at 16-over 592.
