Mainieri Takes Part in Ochsner 'Tree of Life' Ceremony
BATON ROUGE — LSU baseball coach Paul Mainieri participated Thursday in the annual Tree of Life Ceremony at Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge.
The Tree of Life honors or memorializes loved ones of patients and employees, who purchase ornaments and place them on a holiday tree.
Mainieri took part in the ceremony by reading the names of those being honored as the ornaments were placed on the tree.
Proceeds from the ceremony benefit the Baton Rouge Patient Assistance Fund.
“I’m honored to have been asked to participate in such a meaningful ceremony, especially during the holiday season,” Mainieri said. “This is a wonderful way for people to honor their loved ones while also benefiting patients who are in need. It is a tremendous cause, and I’m happy to have contributed to the effort.”
