McCarthy Resigns From Football Staff

BATON ROUGE — DJ McCarthy, an assistant coach on the LSU football staff, has resigned his position at LSU, head coach Les Miles announced Wednesday.

“My thanks to DJ for his service these past three seasons at LSU and for the contributions he made to our program,” said Miles.  “I wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

McCarthy recently completed his third year on the LSU staff, having come to Baton Rouge in the spring of 2007 after coaching at UCLA in 2006.

“Today I tendered my resignation from LSU,” McCarthy said. “I would like to thank Coach Miles for the opportunity to work with him, the players I coached, and to have been a part of the great history and tradition at LSU.  LSU has the best fans and supporters in the world. We should all be proud of the accomplishments and achievements of the football program during my time here.  My family and I would like to thank the tiger nation for three great years.”
