'Together We CAN' Food Drive Begins at Volleyball Match
BATON ROUGE — This weekend’s volleyball and swimming & diving events will give LSU fans their opportunity to participate in the SEC’s “Together We CAN” drive to help local food banks and shelters. All 12 SEC schools will participate in the canned food drive, which began Friday, Sept. 19 and will last through Sunday, Sept. 28.
Donations will be accepted at home athletic contests and other designated community locations during the 10-day period. All proceeds from LSU will benefit the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.
Opportunities to make donations on LSU’s campus include:
- Events with Collections: Volleyball at lower southwest entrance of Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Sept. 26 and Sept. 28; Swimming & Diving at LSU Natatorium on Sept. 26
- Other Places to Donate: Front entrances to Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes from Sept. 19-28
- Benefiting the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank – http://www.brfoodbank.org/
Donations also will be accepted through Sept. 28 at the front entrance to the Cox Communications Center for Student Athletes on the LSU campus.
