Isom Featured in SI's 'Faces in the Crowd'

BATON ROUGE — LSU freshman goalkeeper Mo Isom continues to receive national attention just four games into her collegiate career as she is one of the “Faces in the Crowd” appearing in this week’s issue of Sports Illustrated on newsstands now.

Isom has been recognized by Sports Illustrated after scoring a goal on a 90-yard free kick in the Tigers’ 4-1 win over then 18th-ranked BYU back on Aug. 25.

She was named the Soccer America Women’s National Player of the Week after video of her goal was broadcast across the globe as part of the “Top 10 Plays” segment of ESPN’s SportsCenter on the night of Aug. 26, cracking the top-five plays of the day at No. 3 on the countdown.

Isom, a native of Marietta, Ga., has burst onto the national stage this fall as she has helped lead the Tigers to a perfect 4-0 record and No. 12 national ranking in the latest Soccer America Top 25 released earlier this week. She has posted a pair of shutouts with an impressive 0.50 goals against average to rank third in the Southeastern Conference.

For her efforts, Isom was named a member of both the Soccer America Women’s National Team of the Week and the Soccer Buzz National Elite Team of the Week, as well as the SEC Defensive Player and Freshman of the Week on Sept. 2.
