Soccer Match at UL-Lafayette Postponed Due to Storm
BATON ROUGE ? Just when the 12th-ranked LSU soccer team thought it was ready to get back on the field following a 10-day layoff, its schedule was altered once again as Friday night’s match against Louisiana-Lafayette was postponed with Hurricane Ike nearing the Gulf Coast.
Officials at Louisiana-Lafayette suspended all campus activities scheduled for Friday, including a cancellation of classes and postponement of previously scheduled soccer and volleyball matches.
According to LSU head coach Brian Lee, the two programs will attempt to reschedule their match for a date later this season. The Tigers are now scheduled to return to action on Tuesday as they play host to the Houston Cougars in a match slated for 5:30 p.m. at the LSU Soccer Complex.
