Three Men's Tennis Players in ITA Preseason Rankings

BATON ROUGE — Three members of the LSU men’s tennis team are listed in the Fila Intercollegiate Tennis Association preseason rankings, the organization announced.

Senior Colt Gaston and junior James Cluskey highlighted the ranking by being ranked No. 9 in doubles. The duo has never played in a match together but each reached the round of 16 in the NCAA doubles tournament this past season.

Gaston garnered All-American honors last season after he and then-partner Danny Bryan posted a 24-4 record.

Cluskey and then-partner Ken Skupski posted a 23-11 record last season.

Senior Kevin Dessauer was the only Tiger listed in the singles rankings coming in at No. 53. The former walk-on had his best season as a Tiger last season as he earned second-team All-SEC honors and compiled a 23-10 record in singles and 23-13 mark in doubles.

The Tigers open the 2007-08 season this Friday when they travel to Houston for the Courtyard by Marriot/Rice Invitational.
