DESTIN, Fla. — The start times for LSU football games against Mississippi State and Virginia Tech have been set by ESPN, the Southeastern Conference announced on Wednesday here at the league’s annual Spring Meetings at the Sandestin Hilton.
LSU will open the 2007 season, its third under Les Miles, on Thursday, Aug. 30 against Mississippi State in Starkville. Kickoff for LSU’s first Thursday game is set for 7 p.m. It will be televised to a national audience by ESPN in what will be the networks first telecast for the 2007 season.
A week later, the Tigers host Virginia Tech in Tiger Stadium in a contest that will carry an 8:15 p.m. start. The game will also be televised by ESPN.
CBS had previously announced LSU’s game against Arkansas to close out the regular season will be played on Friday, Nov. 23 and will start at 1:30 p.m.
LSU’s game against Tulane in the Louisiana Superdome on Sept. 29 will also be televised by either ESPN or ESPN2, the network announced on Wednesday. ESPN’s spokesperson Dave Brown said that the kickoff for the LSU-Tulane game hasn’t been set yet.
