BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Chris Wells continues to receive recognition for his play during his senior season as he was named to the 2007 PING All-Southeast Region Team on Wednesday as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
This marks the second time in his career that Wells has been named to the PING All-Southeast Region Team after earning all-region accolades following his first season with the Tigers in 2005.
Wells, who is eligible for PING All-America honors with his selection to the organization’s all-region team, has also been named a Second-Team All-Southeastern Conference selection and a member of the SEC Men’s Golf Good Works Team for the 2006-07 season.
The Mobile, Ala., native is the most decorated Tiger over the last three seasons as he finishes his career as a two-time All-SEC selection and two-time First-Team All-Louisiana performer as awarded by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. This year’s LSWA All-Louisiana Team has yet to be released.
The PING All-Southeast Region Team consists of the top 15 individuals in the region as rated by the Individual Ranking System. Additionally, any player ranked in top 75 nationally in the final Golfstat or Sagarin player rankings not included in the region’s top 15 was added to the team.
