BATON ROUGE — After defeating No. 16 Stanford, 11-5, on Saturday, the third-ranked and 10th seeded LSU softball will travel to Tempe, Ariz., to face seventh-seeded and ninth-ranked Arizona State in the NCAA Super Regionals this weekend at Farrington Stadium.
The Tigers (55-10) will take on the Sun Devils (52-15) in the best of three series beginning on Friday at 9 p.m. (CT). The pair will meet again on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. (CT) with a third game to follow at 9 p.m. (CT) if necessary. None of the Tempe Super Regional games have been selected for television, but all of LSU’s Super Regional games can be heard on the LSU Sports Radio Network.
Tickets for the NCAA Super Regional in Tempe will go on sale Monday. The general public can purchase all-session tickets starting at 3 p.m. CT. The price for reserved all-session tickets is $25, while general admission all-session tickets are $20. Children can purchase general admission all-session tickets for $15.

Starting Tuesday at 11 a.m. CT, the public can buy single game tickets. Fans can purchase reserved single-game tickets for $15 or general admission single-game tickets for $12. LSU went undefeated in NCAA Regional play in Palo Alto, Calif., to advance to the Super Regionals. The Tigers defeated Cal State Northridge, 3-2, before knocking off No. 25 Fresno State, 1-0, in nine innings. In the championship game, LSU topped regional host and 16th-ranked Stanford, 11-5, on Saturday.
Arizona State also went undefeated in regional play to advance. The Sun Devils topped Southern Utah, 2-1, in nine innings to open regional play in Provo, Utah. They then knocked off BYU, 7-1, before defeating the Cougars once again, 6-3, to earn a berth in the NCAA Super Regionals.
LSU has won six straight games, claiming both the Southeastern Conference Tournament title and the NCAA Regional championship. Arizona State has won four straight since a 4-3 loss to UCLA on May 11. The winner of the NCAA Super Regional will advance to play the winner of the Northwestern/South Carolina Super Regional in the Women’s College World Series beginning on May 31.
The Tigers are 3-3 all-time against the Sun Devils. The last meeting between the pair came in the 2003 NCAA Regional in Austin, Texas. In that game, LSU lost, 4-1, to Arizona State to be eliminated from postseason play. The pair also met in the 2002 NCAA Regionals in Lafayette, La., where the Sun Devils won a pair of games against the Tigers to advance to the Women’s College World Series. LSU defeated Arizona State in the 2001 NCAA Regional in Baton Rouge on its way to its first WCWS berth.
