LSU Golfer Kuhn Advances in U.S. Open Qualifying
BATON ROUGE — LSU women’s golfer Rebecca Kuhn, who just completed her freshman year for the nationally-ranked Lady Tigers, is still alive for a shot to compete in this year’s United States Women’s Open.
Kuhn, from Miami, Fla., took advantage of a local qualifier in Jacksonville, Fla., at Deerwood Country Club and her 6-over 78 put her in a tie for 10th in a qualifier. The top 16 golfers advanced to the sectional qualifying round, which is scheduled for June 13-14 at sites around the country.
The women’s U. S. Open is scheduled for June 23-26 at the Cherry Hills Country Club at Cherry Hills Village, Colo.
Kuhn completed her freshman season at LSU, averaging 75.70 strokes per round with two top 10 finishes, including a runner up finish in the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic in March.
