Former Tiger LeJeune Leads NFL Europe in Interceptions
BATON ROUGE — Former LSU football standout Norman LeJeune continues to make a strong claim to land a spot on the Tennessee Titans roster as he leads NFL Europe in interceptions with three heading into the seventh week of the season.
LeJeune, a three-year starter for LSU from 1999-2001, has picked off three passes for the 4-2 Amsterdam Admirals. He also ranks fourth on his team with 22 tackles and leads the squad with six pass defended.
Two weeks ago, LeJeune was named NFL Europe’s Defensive Player of the Week following a two-interception, seven-tackle effort in a win against Cologne.
Other Tigers making news in NFL Europe include defensive backs Jack Hunt and Adrian Mayes along with offensive lineman Rodney Reed.
Mayes has started all six games at safety for the Berlin Thunder and he ranks fourth on the team with 24 tackles, 18 of which are solo stops. Hunt has recorded 13 tackles, 11 solo, in a backup role for the Thunder. The Thunder enter week 7 of the NFL Europe season tied for first in the league with a 4-2 mark.
Reed, a former Academic All-America for the Tigers, is currently listed on the second team at both guard and tackle positions for the Hamburg Sea Devils.
