Tigers to Hold First Scrimmage on Tuesday

BATON ROUGE — A day after hosting a record 10,000 fans on campus for Fan Day, LSU went back to work on Monday with a pair of practices at the Charles McClendon Practice Facility.

The Tigers spent the morning session on Monday in full pads, while the evening workout had LSU back in shells in preparation for the first scrimmage of camp on Tuesday.

The Tigers will conduct a full-scale scrimmage on Tuesday, the first of two for the team during the preseason. LSU is scheduled to scrimmage again on Aug. 24.

Monday’s morning workout had ESPN on hand to tape a one-hour special on the Tigers. The special, which aired on Monday afternoon, featured everything from how the Tigers prepare for practice, to what goes on during individual drills as well as showcasing some action during 9-on-7 and 7-on-7 drills. In all, the ESPN camera spent nearly two hours with the Tigers on Monday.

Ron Franklin, Bill Curry, and Mark May were all on hand on Monday to host the show, which also had LSU coach Nick Saban wearing a live microphone for the entire workout. The ESPN crew will tape Georgia’s practice on Tuesday with the airing set for Wednesday afternoon.
