Former Tiger Bateman to Make First PGA Major Appearance
BATON ROUGE — Former LSU All-American Brian Bateman will be making his first appearance in a major tournament when he tees off at the PGA Championship Thursday at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wis.
Bateman will be paired with Todd Hamilton and 2004 Master’s Champion Phil Mickelson for the tournament’s first and second round. They will tee off Thursday at 1:35 p.m. and Friday at 8:20 a.m.
Bateman’s best finish on the PGA Tour in 2004, as well as his career, was a third-place finish at The Honda Classic in March.
