Tiger Tennis Named ITA All-Academic Team
BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis squad was named an All-Academic team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Tuesday.
The Tigers posted the highest grade point average of any LSU varsity team with a cumulative 3.5.
Two Tigers were also honored individually as ITA Scholar Athletes.
Senior Bryan Fisher was named a Scholar Athlete after graduating in May with a degree in marketing. Fisher, a Nashville native, was named Southeastern Conference Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year during the season.
Fisher was joined by teammate Paul White, pre-med a sophomore from Lake Charles.
The Tigers’ success in the classroom was matched on the court, where they finished the season ranked No. 13 in the nation by the ITA. They were one of only two Division I men’s teams in the nation’s final top-25 rankings to be named an All-Academic team. They were also one of only two men’s teams in the conference named All-Academic.
