Skupski Earns First-Team All-Louisiana Honors

BATON ROUGE — Ken Skupski led LSU’s selections on the All-Louisiana teams, earning Freshman of the year and first-team All-Louisiana honors.

Cory Ross, Jason Hazley and Bryan Fisher all made the second team.

Skupski has piled up awards this year. The freshman from Liverpool, England, made first-team All-SEC and was named ITA Southeast Regional Player to Watch. He is among eight national finalists for ITA Player to Watch, which will be announced later this month. Skupski will play later this month in the NCAA Singles Championship Tournament. He is one of only two freshmen in the nation selected to the draw.

Fisher and Hazley were named second-team All-SEC. The pair is ranked 13th in the nation in doubles and will play at the NCAA Doubles Championship tournament.

Ross, a senior from Littleton, Co., finished his season with an 18-2 dual match record and an 11-1 doubles record with Sebastian Rutka.

Tulane’s Robert Klein won Coach of the Year and Michael Kogan, also of Tulane, won Player of the Year.
