Men's Tennis Set for Ragin' Cajuns Classic
LAFAYETTE, La. — The LSU men’s tennis team will stay close to home this weekend to face opponents from ten teams in the Ragin’ Cajuns Classic at UL-Lafayette.
Bryan Fisher, Cory Ross and Danny Bryan begin play in the A Division singles bracket Friday. Ross won the event last year and earned a first seed this year. He recently returned to the Tigers’ fall lineup after recovering from injury.
“Cory is the defending champion in this tournament,” said LSU assistant coach Mark Booras. “He has been making progress since he’s been back, and this is a good opportunity to keep improving.”
Bryan faces Tulane’s Max LaCroix at 8:30 a.m. Fisher takes on ULL’s Mark Castellana at 10 a.m.
“We are looking for (Fisher and Bryan) to step up and get some big wins,” Booras said.
Ross and Bryan are coming off a doubles championship at Tulane’s Beau Holton Memorial Tournament last weekend in their first competition as a doubles team. They earned a first round bye and begin play Saturday.
