GREENVILLE, S. C. — The LSU Lady Tiger golf team posted a season best score of 5-over-par 293 on Saturday to stand in fourth after two rounds of the Furman Lady Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Golf Course.
LSU improved 11 shots on its first round and stands at 597, 21-over, one shot out of third held by TCU. Georgia is the leader at 2-under-par 574 (291-283), 15 shots ahead of second place Tulsa.
Freshman Melissa Eaton made the big move for LSU, improving from an 82 in the first round to shoot a 1-under 71 in the second round. LSU also counted an even-par round of 72 from Brooke Shelton and 75s from Alexis Rather and Devon Day.
Shelton’s rounds of 75-72 put her at three-over 147, tied for seventh place in the individual standings.
Whitney Wade of Georgia is the individual leader with a 4-under 140, following a second round of 4-under 68.
The tournament wraps up on Sunday and is the final event of the fall for the Lady Tigers.
