Women's Golf in Third after Day One of Lady Paladin

GREENVILLE, S. C. — When the LSU Lady Tigers have posted a good number this season, it has usually meant consistent rounds at the top of the board.

That was the case Friday in the first round of the Furman Lady Paladin Invitational as three Lady Tigers’ shot three-over 75s to help LSU to a third place start after the first 18 holes of the 54-hole event.

LSU shot 16-over par 304 and is third place behind the leaders Georgia and Tulsa that posted three-over par 291 scores. Mississippi and TCU are tied for fourth at 17-over 305.

LSU’s Vicky Meyer, Brooke Shelton and Alexis Rather all posted three-over 75s for LSU to stand in a tie for 14th place after the first round of play. LSU’s other counting scoring was a seven-over 79 by Devon Day.

As expected, many of the Tulsa and Georgia golfers are at the top of the leader board with Julie Tvede of Tulsa the best at one-under 71.

The tournament continues through Sunday.
