FORT WORTH, Texas — LSU’s Lauren Seaman and Rocio Fantilli stumbled Monday in their finals match at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships at Friedman Tennis Center. They lost to third-seeded Jessica Roland and Helga Vieira of Texas A&M, 8-1.
“(Roland and Vieira) played really, really well,” said LSU head coach Tony Minnis.
Seaman also lost in the consolation finals, 5-7, 6-2, 10-5, to Biljana Dimovska of Houston.
Fantilli and Seaman, a tournament first seed and the No. 38 team in the nation, barreled through the earlier rounds of the tournament. This was their first tournament of the fall season.
The Lady Tigers have one more tournament this fall. They compete Nov. 7 in the SEC Fall Coaches Classic in Peachtree City, Ga.
