Track and Field Officials Re-Elects Board Members
BATON ROUGE, La. – Tuesday evening the LSU Track and Field Official’s Association held it’s annual organizational meeting were it elected board members for the upcoming three-year term and honored numerous individuals for their service and dedication to the Association over the years.
Five spots on the board’s committee were up for bid this year. Three of the members, in Dwight Woosley, Paul Stelly and Jimmy Gilbert were re-elected as members of the committee, while George Simoneux and Jeff Hoffman were elected as first-term board members.
The LSU Track and Field Association also recognized three exceptional individuals who where inducted into the Association’s Hall of Fame for their numerous contributions to the LSU track and field program. 2003’s honorees included Jean and John Broussard and current Association President Dwight Woosley.
The Association also honored 12 individuals with Service Awards for their unselfish and unrelenting contributions to the Official’s Association and the LSU track and field program.
Receiving recognition for 15 years of quality service were John Barrilleau and Donald Dunbar. Beverly LeBlanc, Byron Godwin, Harold Newman and Bill Morris were all honored for 20 years of dedicated service, while Bard Meyers, Pat Boudreaux, Chip Sterling and Bob Lewis were all recognized for their 25 years of dedication to the Association. And most impressive of all were John Desselles and Vernon Dugas who were each recognized for an amazing 30 years of service.
