Soccer's Fotopoulos to be Featured on SEC-TV Thursday

ATLANTA — LSU head soccer coach George Fotopoulos and his wife Danielle, a volunteer assistant coach on the Tigers’ staff, will be featured this Thursday on SEC-TV Weekly at 5:30 p.m. on Fox Sports Net South (Ch. 38 in Baton Rouge).

Fotopoulos, in his fourth season at the helm, has guided the Tigers to a 42-23-7 record and two berths in the Southeastern Conference Tournament. Danielle, a former standout at the University of Florida, has played the last three seasons for the WUSA’s Carolina Courage and helped them win the 2002 Founder’s Cup. Danielle was named the 1995 SEC Player of the Year for the Gators.

Danielle finished her career as the NCAA’s all-time leading goal scorer (118) and points leader (284), and was a member of the 1999 United States Women’s World Cup team which defeated China to win the title.

The Fotopoulos’ were interviewed earlier this month by SEC-TV’s Jenn Hildreth prior to the Tigers SEC-TV match versus Vanderbilt on Oct. 5 in Nashville, Tenn. The show, which is shown each week is hosted by Dave Neal. It will be re-aired on Friday, Oct. 17 at 11:30 a.m.
