LeJeune, Randall Named LSWA Players of the Week
RUSTON, La. — A pair of LSU football players who helped the Tigers keep their hopes alive of defending their Southeastern Conference title were named Louisiana Sports Writers’ Association players-of-the-week on Monday.
LSU quarterback Marcus Randall was named offensive player of the week after coming off the bench to complete 13-of-20 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns to rally LSU past Ole Miss in a 14-13 win in SEC play.
The sophomore from Baton Rouge also ran nine times for 31 yards in the game and did not throw an interception.
LSU strong safety Norman LeJeune was named the defensive player of the week after leading the Tiger defense in a strong effort against Ole Miss. The senior made his last game in Tiger Stadium a memorable one by recording 13 tackles (10 solo) and two sacks as the LSU defense limited the Rebels to 279 yards of total offense and just 105 in the second half. The Brusly native also added three pass deflections and one tackle for a four-yard loss.

Other offensive players nominated: Louisiana Tech running back Joe Smith, Northwestern State quarterback Kevin Magee and Tulane running back Mewelde Moore.
