GREENVILLE, S.C. — After its best round of the year to begin play on Friday, the LSU women’s golf team improved on its performance to move into a tie for seventh place after the second round of the Lady Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Golf Course on Saturday.
The Lady Tigers posted a first round of 17-over 305, to move them to 36-over 612 for the tournament, good enough for a tie for seventh with North Carolina State. Host Furman stands in first at 12-over 588, five shots over South Carolina at 593.
LSU sophomore Brooke Shelton posted back-to-back one-over rounds of 73 and stands in a group tied for fifth place in a tournament led by Leigh Turner at two-under 142. Isabel Dornellas and Devon Day both improved on their performances from Friday, posting a four-over 76 and a five-over 77 to stand in 41st and 43rd respectively.
After firing a four-over 76 in the first round, freshman Rebecca shot a 14-over 86 in the second day to finish in a tie for 68th.
