Swimming & Diving Holds 'Phone Meet' With Auburn
BATON ROUGE — The LSU swimming and diving team will hold the first “phone meet” in school history on Friday at the LSU Natatorium as a makeup for the originally scheduled meet versus Auburn on Oct. 5 in Baton Rouge.
The meet was supposed to bring nationally-ranked Auburn to Baton Rouge on Oct. 5, but effects of Hurricane Lili postponed the meet and Auburn was unable to travel this weekend, thus, forcing the team’s to hold a meet by phone.
The respective team’s will swim their events at their home pools, results will be recorded and will then be called in by the coaches and compared. The official results of the meet will be released by Monday, LSU head coach Jeff Cavana announced. Friday’s meet will begin at 3 p.m.
LSU’s next home meet will be on Nov. 2 versus Tennessee at the LSU Natatorium. The Tigers swept Wright State last Friday in Baton Rouge as both the LSU men and women evened their records for the season to 1-1.
