Women's Golf Remains in 14th at Mercedes-Benz

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The LSU women’s golf team improved its team score by one stroke and remained in 14th place after Saturday’s second round of the Mercedes-Benz Women’s Collegiate Championships at the Gettysvue Polo, Golf and Country Club.

LSU posted a 38-over score of 327 and stands after two rounds at 77-over par 653. The surprising play of the Swedish Junior National Team continued on Saturday as they remained in a share of the lead with a two-day total of 27-over par 603. But Florida made the big move of the day, shooting a 2-over par round of 290 to move into a tie for the lead at 603, two shots ahead of UNLV and four ahead of Auburn.

Brooke Shelton had LSU’s low round of the day of 8-over par 80 with the other counting scores: Isabel Dornellas 81, Devon Day 82 and Rachel Overstreet 83.

The low Lady Tiger in the individual standings after 36 holes is Day at 15-over 159, tied for 41st place with Shelton in 45th at 160.

The individual leader is Ashley Prange of North Carolina with a 2-under 142 (72-70), one shot ahead of Amanda Dick of Florida at 143 (73-70).

The final round is set for Sunday.
