Four Lady Tigers' Games Televised in 2002-03
BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Lady Tigers basketball team will be on television four times during the upcoming 2002-03 season, including two nationally televised games.
The Lady Tigers will host Big 10 power Penn State on CBS on Jan. 4th in the PMAC and then play at Arkansas on ESPN on Jan. 19th as part of the networks’ Martin Luther King Jr., holiday weekend schedule.
SEC-TV announced their schedule with LSU slated twice during the conference season. The Lady Tigers will visit Mississippi State on Feb. 9th and close out the regular season at Vanderbilt on March 2nd. SEC-TV broadcasts their games on Fox Sport Net.
“Anytime you get exposure like this it is great for the program,” LSU head coach Sue Gunter said. “To have four games on television is a credit to where our program is right now. I am disappointed that a few more games where not picked up, like the Texas and Tennessee games, but I am in no way ungrateful for what we have.”
This will be the first time LSU has been on ESPN for a regular season game since 1992 and it will be the first time in the program’s history they will appear on CBS.
