Tigers Practice Once; Classes Begin Monday
BATON ROUGE — The LSU football team practiced on Saturday afternoon for slightly over two hours as the Tigers get in their final workouts before classes begin.
“We had a good practice today. I think the players really worked hard,” said LSU coach Nick Saban. “We have covered a lot of situations in the last few days and worked on a lot of different things. I was pleased with out effort.”
The team received the night off from meetings and practice in preparation for the final day of two-a-days on Sunday.
Offensive lineman Bob Wynne practiced for the first time since Wednesday’s scrimmage. Missing Saturday’s workout were wide receiver Abram Booty (hip), offensive lineman Dwayne Pierce (knee) and Domanick Davis (knee). Davis is expected to practice on Sunday.
The team will work on communication on the field and substitutions in a mock game on Sunday afternoon before holding the final practice at 6:30 p.m. before classes begin Monday.
The Tigers open the season on Sept. 2 against Western Carolina in Tiger Stadium at 7 p.m.
