Tigers Finish Third Straight Two-A-Day Practice
BATON ROUGE — The LSU football team met for the third straight day of full-squad practice Saturday afternoon at the LSU practice facility for the fifth of 22 scheduled practices before the Tigers’ first game against Western Carolina on September 2.
The Tigers began this afternoon with a special teams walk through.? The first half of the two-hour practice touched on individual drills with a primary focus on technique. ? The Tigers then moved to more team oriented drills, working both the offense and defense together in the second half of practice.
“We had another good practice,” LSU coach Nick Saban said. “The players continue to work hard and they continue to improve. I thought the intensity level improved from our practice last night.”
The Tigers will continue in “shells” tonight at 7:30 in the practice facility before Fan Day and Media Day tomorrow afternoon.
Media Day will begin at 10 a.m. immediately followed by Fan Day.? The LSU ticket office and Hall of Fame will both open at 12:30 p.m., while festivities for Fan Day begin at 1 p.m. outside Tiger Stadium with the EATEL Ultimate Football Challenge in the West Stadium parking lot. Gates to the stadium open at 1:45 p.m.
The Tigers’ 2:30 p.m. workout on Sunday afternoon, their first in full pads, will be open to the public. The Tigers will then continue a two-a-day practice schedule on Monday.
