Tigers Continue Preparation for Italy
BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s basketball team continued its preparation for an exhibition tour of Italy Thursday evening. The Tigers practiced as a team for a solid hour and a half, while some players elected to stay after for additional work.
The Tigers began with a series of 2-on-2, 3-on-3, and 4-on-4 half-court drills. Each primarily focused on screening and moving off the ball, something the Tiger offense could see more of with the absence of Jabari Smith and Stromile Swift.
During the second half of practice, the Tigers moved from half court to full court, again addressing the importance of moving without the ball and keeping the court spread.
The Tigers are scheduled to workout again Friday and Saturday morning before departing for Italy on Sunday morning. LSU is scheduled to play at least five games on the tour. Upon their return, the Tigers will next take the floor Oct. 15 for the start of fall practice.
The five-game stint in Italy is the first time that the LSU men’s basketball team has toured a foreign country in preseason competition.
